WHAT IS TAI CHI?

Say the Chinese, And you will become… agile like a child, strong like a wood – cutter and calm like a wise man. Tai Chi keeps harmony between the body, soul and spirit. This method has a healing affect on the nervous system as well as the repiratory, cardiovascular and digestive systems. Tai Chi helps promote a healthy metabolism and develops the motor skills.

TAI CHI CHUAN TANG STYLE

The Yang Style of Tai Chi Chuan was first developed by Yang Lu Chan in the mid 1800’s. Yang Lu Chan had trained in the Chen style of Tai Chi Chuan for approximately eighteen years, and had become very proficient in the art. He became famous, and was well known as “Yang the Invincible”. The art was passed down from fathers to sons. Yang Lu Chan’s grnadson, Yang Cheng Fu, standardized and made the style popular throughout China in the early 1900’s. Today the Yang style, which is named after the family surname, is the most practiced style of Tai Chi Chuan in the world today.
